"That's... the rental board from Joilant!"
—Klonoa's response to Popka at the Mountains of Mira-Mira.The Air Board is a recurring item Klonoa uses to ride through certain levels. The board resembles a snowboard. it hovers slightly off the ground, and allows him to travel over large areas of snow and water. the board first appeared in Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil, and later appeared in Klonoa: Empire of Dreams and Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament. Moos are often seen riding boards in these kinds of stages as well. The air board controls are quite simple: The board automatically moves forward. You can jump, float and use the Wind Ring just like in the normal stages. In 3D areas, you can control the board left and right. Up makes you accelerate and down slows you down. In 2D areas, pushing right makes you accelerate and pushing left slows you down.
Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil
The board was first seen in Joilant's Jungle Slider as a rental board. Popka thought that some circumstances might happen later on, so he decided to take the board with him just in case. Later to be used in the Mountains of Mira-Mira, the Empty Sea of Tears, Indecision Pass, Hyuponia's Forgotten Path and the Terminus of Tears. This game has both 3D and 2D sections for the board, and often switches between them. You can perform a few tricks and taunts while riding the board by pressing L1 or L2.
Klonoa: Empire of Dreams
The board made an appearance for a few stages and it works exactly like in Lunatea's Veil, except that you only control it in 2D areas and there's no tricks and taunts that you can do while riding the board.
Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament
The board returns for a few stages in this game as well, and it's mentioned a few times by other characters. It works almost the same as the 3D stages of Lunatea's Veil, but with a few removals. Like, you can't brake and accelerate anymore. Pressing L makes Klonoa do a 360° spin kinda like in Lunatea's Veil.
